A superb experience! As a first-timer on the Crib Goch scramble to Yr Wyddfa I decided going with a guide was my best bet. I could not have chosen better! Smyrff was excellent; combining relaxed, easy conversation with local history, technical advice and humour, always with an encouraging air and an ever-present but subtle emphasis on safety. It really was a terrific day out with plenty of advice on foot holds, hand grips, balance and standing upright and being relaxed and enjoying the experience. You really could not ask for more; it was like a day out with a friend. I sincerely, highly recommend Smyrff, whether you want a more technical scramble, like Crib Goch or a guided walk around Snowdonia’s many, less populated peaks. I shall be back for more!

Having met Smyrff on another training weekend I reached out for help with my first walk across Crib Goch, Garnedd Ugain and Yr Wyddfa. Couldn't have wished for a better guide, helpful, patient encouraging and fantastic local knowledge made the day unforgettable, and to top it all he even arranged the sun to be out all day :-) If you are looking for a guide I can not recommend Smyrff highly enough, and hopefully look forward to another hike with him in the future. Smyrff - you rock! Such an awesome mountain guide. We hired Smyrff for our first time scrambling Crib Goch to Yr Wyddfa. Safe movement was always top priority along the exposed ridge, but Smyrff does this in the spirit of bringing great humour to put you at ease achieving a mountain challenge. His brilliant guidance on hand and foot holds made misty conditions creeping over the ridge feel non-intimidating, especially when moving on any wet rock. The sun did eventually break through (and a rainbow!) for stunning views of the Eryri skylines - but the huge value in learning and gaining confidence to move in tricky conditions I believe is such a fantastic takeaway from this epic experience! Thanks so much! Glowingly recommend that anyone thinking to have a go at Crib Goch asks Smyrff to guide them.

Can’t recommend Smyrff and Hike and bike Snowdonia high enough, from the initial enquiry to the walk itself the whole process was excellent Smyrff is an excellent guide with great knowledge of the terrain and the surrounding environment, I learned quite a few things on the walk and even a bit of Welsh too. 100% would reccomend. From start to finish, this trip was unreal. Smyrff is a legend, and a top guide - make sure everyone in the group was comfortable and supporting everyone through out with his skills and techniques. Can't praise him enough. What an unforgettable trip, in the amazing Atlas Mountains. Feels like a dream, don't think twice, just book it, challenge yourself!!

Highly recommended trip to Toubkal, Morocco. Planned and executed amazingly. Smyrff (mountain leader) was amazing leading the group on the mountains and all throughout the trip. Also Smyrff had an amazing relationship with the local guides/team which again made the trip more enjoyable. 10/10, 100% recommended!

Recently hiked the Atlas Mountains & Mount Toubkal in Morrocco! He is an EXCEPTIONAL mountain leader! Helped me at a point I felt very vulnerable on the mountain (as an unexperienced mountaineer & someone who is afraid on big edges / drops ). He held my hand and made me feel SO safe! Throughout the adventure I never felt scared once! He made me feel so safe & confident out on the mountains! He is truly one in a million! I will never forget this journey. Once in a lifetime experience! So glad that I chose to hike the largest mountain in North Africa with Smyrff! Smyrff ti’n Halen y ddaer. Diolch i chdi am yr wsos gora efyr! Ti’n amazing!!! Massive thanks to Smyrff and his brilliant team at Hike Bike Snowdonia for leading our charity Snowdon Sunset Walk! From start to finish, they were fantastic — super knowledgeable, friendly, and made sure everyone felt comfortable and safe. Smyrff’s love for the outdoors really came through, and his banter kept us all motivated, even on the steeper bits.
