

The Glyderau’s Cwm Idwal is regarded as one of the finest examples of a glaciated landscape in Britain, it includes erratic rocks, spectacular cliffs, a lake and waterfalls, rocky crags with the highlight being the black chasm of Twll Du (Devil’s kitchen).
A variety of flora and fauna which includes rare arctic alpine plants make the start of this hike a truly wonderful experience with magnificent views.
The Glyderau includes 5 of Wales’ 14 summits which are over 3000 feet: Tryfan, Glyder Fach, Glyder Fawr, Y Garn and Elidir Fawr.
Tryfan is considered one of the finest mountains in Wales which requires scrambling to reach the classic peak. The summit of Tryfan is famous for it’s twin stone monoliths and dramatic scenery.
Glyder Fawr / Glyder Fach – Breathtaking scenery which boasts two of Snowdonia’s most iconic features – Y Gwyliwr (Cantilever stone) and Castell y Gwynt which has the magnificent view of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon) as it’s backdrop with great photo opportunities!
The Glyderau hosts many walking and scrambling opportunities from beginners to advanced abilities. At times it can also be difficult to navigate so make it a more enjoyable day when using an experienced and knowledgeable local guide.
